Anne Janand coordinated the book “Management durable : des raisons d’espérer ?”, with Karim Said and Philippe Jacquinot.

Abstract: Sustainable development has become one of the major challenges of our societies, particularly due to the environmental (climate change, Anthropocene, biodiversity decline) and societal (rising inequalities, geopolitical tensions, weakening of democratic consensus) issues associated with it. This makes it all the more necessary to decipher the factors influencing our future and the potential responses to address them.

In this context, organizations play a central role, positioned at the intersection of multiple economic, social, and societal interactions. They are engaged in processes of reconfiguring their value chains by placing sustainability management at the core of their priorities.

This book aims to analyze how management can serve as a catalyst for initiatives dedicated to ensuring the long-term viability of organizations and their stakeholders. It brings together contributions from management science researchers at the University of Paris-Saclay, who examine the practices, approaches, and tools that can be leveraged for this purpose. It offers new perspectives, providing reasons for optimism in the face of the profound transformations ahead.
