LGB (lesbian, gay, bisexual) people are victims of several forms of violence at work: discrimination (in access to employment, responsibilities, for example), stigmatisation, humiliation, sexual violence, among others (Zurbrügg & Miner, 2016). Women, regardless of their sexual orientation, are also victims of discrimination and violence in the workplace (Laufer, 2014). This research project lies at the intersection of these two fields and aims to describe and understand the experience of lesbian employees at work, and how organisations can become more inclusive for these women (acronym ODILE: Organisation – Diversity – Inclusion – LESbians). In so doing, it incorporates a ‘gender approach’ into the understanding of the discrimination and violence experienced by LGB people at work. The project is based on 3 studies: a qualitative exploratory study, a netnography and a quantitative questionnaire. The project aims to enrich the literature on gender and the literature on the inclusion of LGB people by cross-referencing them and showing the specificity of the experiences of lesbian employees at work. This will also shed light on the notion of inclusion, which is increasingly used (but also criticised) in academic literature.
